Anyone have any information to share how RBR runs in Vista environment? Videocard drivers seem to be out for Vista with both Nvidia and ATI products.

It would be terrible to invest money only to find out that RBR don't work at Vista

RBR works fine in vista, the steering wheel may be a problem (at least my momo didn't work fine, no ff :confused2: )

Glad to hear that the game runs ok with Vista. Now the wheel  Your wheel is Momo racing force? Are there any updated driver from Logitech to get this wheel running in Vista platform with all force feedback effects?

What about G25 wheel with Vista? Any experiences? Mika? Sebi?

I didn't find vista drivers on logitech site. I tried to play rbr in vista rtm (don't know what built it was) so maybe that is the reason for non working ff. I'll try in the next few days to install the final version of vista (i get it for free from msdnaa :) ) and see if the drivers for momo are fixed and how good does rbr work with newest video drivers.

What is your version of Vista? I was thinking about 64-bit Vista Home Premium. Will RBR run also in 64-bit Vista?

Yes. Also my MOMO have FF with Windows XP x64 drivers. :) (Despite of error messages at installation.)

Great news then :) So the game runs and momo works. Now, how is the gameplay performance compared to WinXP? Is is any worse with framerates? I read that Vista eats lot of RAM too. I have 2GB RAM so it should be enough for now.

Any news if G25 works with Vista?

I found this:
Conclusion: K.O. For Windows Vista?
Windows Vista clearly is not a great new performer when it comes to executing single applications at maximum speed. Although we only looked at the 32-bit version of Windows Vista Enterprise, we do not expect the 64-bit edition to be faster (at least not with 32-bit applications).

Overall, applications performed as expected, or executed slightly slower than under Windows XP. The synthetic benchmarks such as Everest, PCMark05 or Sandra 2007 show that differences are non-existent on a component level. We also found some programs that refused to work, and others that seem to cause problems at first but eventually ran properly. In any case, we recommend watching for Vista-related software upgrades from your software vendors.
I think there is no reason to use vista 32bit. The new OP system is overall slower then XP. I think i wait till there will be more 64bit programs and i will only use 64bit vista. But now the driver support of 64 bit vista is very poore and the lan connection has very often problems.

I think, I keep XP for a while. :)

Little update with Vista experience: Gameplay performance is similar to WIN XP, I have no stuttering and the game runs smoothly. Only is that the FPS are locked to 60FPS. I haven't been able to put the Vsync off. Plugin runs fine too.

Some downsides aswell: Camhack and rbrnet doesn't work. Some fix is available but it didn't fix my problem. I have to manually adjust the cam for each car I drive, but once it's done then it's done for good.

I learned that it's quite recommended to shutdown some Vista service components which are heavily using your hdd and may cause premature failure of your hdd. By shutting down some programs you may loose some Vista design service enhancements but for me I feel that RBR needs all attention so I gave up on those functions.

We tryed the vista with my friend, but i think i will give some and wait till SP1 :)
Anyway i want to use vista64, the 32bit version provides nothing special to XP exept of the bugs :D

I have been searchin different forums, bust still haven't found the answer to my question.

When you install rbr on Vista there is no replays etc. in the games folder. Where does it go? Where can I find them?

I dont run Vista but friends do and they have the same problems.

The replay folder is created by RBR at the 1st time you save a replay (it is independent from the OS you use).

Anyway i use Vista Ultimate 64 bit and RBR runs perfect no problem.
